I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver.

-- Maya Angelou

Donors can give to the United Way of the Great Basin with confidence because:

Funds stay locally – contributions to the Community Fund are tracked by the donor’s home zip code, and remain within that zip code, supporting programs in that community.  Contributions to Community Impact Areas remain with the region the donor selects, either Elko/Eureka/White Pine Counties or Humboldt/Lander Counties, supporting the Impact Area selected by the donor.

The Partner Agencies who receive grant funding through the Community Fund are required to provide quarterly reports showing where and how the money was spent, how many people were served, and how the program made a difference in people’s lives.

Any donor is welcome to contact the United Way of the Great Basin at any time and ask for proof showing how their donation was invested.  In addition, our finances, policies, and procedures are fully transparent, meaning donors have the right to see and comment on any aspect of our operation.
